Apple “Pie” Yogurt Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 cup [240 g] Plain Non Fat Greek Yogurt
  • 1 scoop [20 g] Protein Powder
  • 0.5 tbsp [6.4 g] Clarified Butter Ghee
  • 1 medium (2-3/4″ dia) (approx 3 per lb) [138 g] Honeycrisp Apples (Peeled and diced small)
  • 0.5 small lemon [15 g] Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 tsp [1.15 g] Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp [5 g] Maple Syrup
  • 0.5 tbsp [8 g] Almond Butter
  • 1.5 tbsp, ground [9.75 g] Flaxseeds
  • 2 tbsp [29.6 g] Water

Directions

  • 1.Add the Greek yogurt and organic protein powder to a bowl and mix until well combined. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  • 2.Heat the ghee in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced apples, fresh-squeezed lemon juice, cinnamon, and maple syrup, and sauté for 8-10 minutes, until the apples are soft and fragrant. Set aside and let cool to room temperature.
  • 3.Add the almond butter, flaxseeds, and water to a bowl, and mix until the almond butter loosens and becomes runny.
  • 4.Fold the cooled, sautéed apples and almond butter sauce into the Greek yogurt. Refrigerate until ready to eat.

Notes

Sweetness option: Fold in less of the cooked apples and almond butter sauce for a less sweet option. The maple syrup can also be removed to lower the sweetness.
